Airlines miles are valuable; so don't lose any chance to add them up. Due the partnerships between HawaiianMiles and its hotel partners, when paying for a hotel stay, you can earn hotel reward points or Hawaiian Airlines miles (you can choose either one). In top of that, remember to use one of your reward credit cards (like Sapphire Reserve, Sapphire Preferred or Hawaiian Airlines MasterCard), when paying for your room to earn points on your reward card (3 points/$1 spent with Reserve, 2 points/$1spent with Preferred, or 1 mile/$1 spent with Hawaiian MasterCard).

The number of hotel reward points you can get is higher than the number of airline miles you can get, but airline miles are more valuable, so choose either one depending on your needs.

Hawaiian Airlines partners with the following hotels rewards programs: Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG), World of Hyatt, Hilton Honors, Marriott Rewards, IHG Rewards, Wyndham Rewards, Aston Hotel and Resorts; Total Rewards (Las Vegas); Tokyu Hotels (Japan) and a variety of local Hawaiian islands hotels and resorts. Some of these hotel partners offer 1 to 2 Hawaiian miles for $1 spent, while others offer up to 5,000 Hawaiian miles per stay. 

Keep in mind that airline miles have a higher value than hotel points. But, if you have points in your hotel reward program account, it's not wise to transfer them to airline miles because they lose a lot of their value in the process. For instance, you only get 5,000 Hawaiian airlines miles for 20,000 Marriott hotel points, if you transfer them.
